On December 11, the Division of Employment Security mailed out their tax rate notices for the year 2024. In addition to the hard copy of your notice, you can also find the same information on NCSUITS under the “Your Options” menu by clicking on the Tax Rate link.
If you have already received your tax rate notice for the upcoming year, send it to us at Balanced Bookkeeping of NC. If we provide your business with bookkeeping services, this information is incredibly important for us to have as we manage your bookkeeping, payroll, and other financial processes in the upcoming year.
You can also download sample files for the three file formats you can upload onto NCSUITS. The three sample files you can open and download include EFW2, ICSEA, and CSV. After you do this, you can use the “Validate Wage Files” tool as many times as you want to test out the files before you submit them. You can find this tool in the Wage Submission section under your employer portal on the website.
As a provider of bookkeeping services, we want to remind you that you must file all quarterly wage and tax reports electronically through NCSUITS. If you want to manually enter your wages on NCSUITS, you can choose “Copy employee information from a previous quarter’s filing.” This will populate all of your employees’ names from a prior quarter in a dropdown list. By selecting from this list, you can ensure your employees’ names are consistent, eliminate keying time, and prevent potential errors. If you use a third-party payroll processor, they will take care of filing your quarterly payroll tax reports for you.
Another thing we want to remind you of is that when you enter wages for quarterly reports, a file name is now required. If you have any questions or want more information about how we can help you with this process through our bookkeeping services, contact us today.
